A schematic design proposal was developed based on Erie County Convention Center Authority Entertainment District Master Plan prepared in 2002.  This Erie Events Complex phase includes an outdoor promenade, ice rink and amphitheater.  A common entry point serves a team store and a new lower lobby to the Tullio Arena.  A multi-story glass enclosed lobby serves a new west-end seating bowl and a new upper concourse.  An indoor/outdoor restaurant overlooks events in both the arena and ballpark.  Enlarged concourses, increased restrooms and concession areas, new private boxes, and several informal seating areas were all carefully considered in the design. A complete schematic design presentation, including floor plans, a virtual model, presentation renderings, a walk-through animation and project budget was developed by Shelane Buehler, AIA while a partner at another firm.
